H1N1 Flu 2010 Update

Publicado el 02/04/2010 00:00

As many of you have heard recently in the news, there has been an outbreak of H1N1 influenza in Mexico and the US.  As well, cases have been reported in many countries around the world. H1N1 influenza starts in pigs, which can also carry human influenza viruses and then can combine with those influenza viruses to mutate into a form which can pass easily back among humans. H1N1 flu infects people every year. It is usually found in people who have been in contact with pigs, although there have been cases of person-to-person transmission, as recently reported.

This new strain appears to be a result of re-assortment of human and swine influenza viruses as well as an avian influenza in an individual human. Our interest is to provide our customers with the latest credible information on this situation and how we in the environmental services community can assist in thwarting any spread of the virus
